Writers of picture books or middle-grade or young-adult works will learn how to best position themselves to get past one of the first gatekeepers of the publishing industry: the literary agent. Students will learn what a literary agent is and how they function in the children’s publishing industry. The seminar will provide helpful tips on how to research kid-lit agents and agencies, as well as how to present their work and themselves as authors. The seminar will also help students develop their pitching and querying skills with in-class writing exercises. Finally, the seminar will cover what to expect once a writer has landed a literary agent. CLICK FOR MORE
