The man who Quincy police say scammed local investors out of millions of dollars by falsely claiming he was going to renovate the Wollaston-area Beachcomber club appears to be lying low - but for how long?

QUINCY - Four months after he disappeared, there's still no sign of Scott Wolas, the man police say conned South Shore investors out of almost $2 million. Wherever he may be, a local expert on swindlers says he doesn't expect Wolas to give up conning. Wolas, 67, who for years was known around Quincy as Eugene Grathwohl, has remained on the lam since mid September, when he was dropped off at the JFK/UMass MBTA stop.
