And on that day in Boston in 2013, where she was a spectator at that city’s famed marathon, she was also a newlywed.One of the bombs that tore through the crowd that afternoon took her left leg. Her right leg was wounded and later amputated. That might have been challenging enough, but it was only the beginning.
